Four Levels of Training Evaluation
The first level of training evaluation program is the reaction and perception of the participants that is calculated by the Human Resource manages themselves. If the reactions and perceptions of the participants towards the training programs are pessimistic, the outcome will be disastrous. On the other side, if the reactions and perceptions of the participants towards the training programs are optimistic, there is much hope for positive results. Therefore this is the most crucial stage towards achieving enhancement and perfection for both the participants and the organization.
The second perspective of training evaluation program is that how much the participants have learned from their training development programs and sessions. If there is significant improvement in their knowledge, aptitude and skills, the new skills and competencies have definitely been learned and achieved. After the training evaluation program, only a post-test will be conducted.
The third stage is the transfer stage. It focuses on evaluating the behavioral changes of the trainees in response to the knowledge and skills gained from the training development programs and sessions. Thus it will test the performance and efficacy of training.
Now the fourth and final stage will focus on the contribution brought by training evaluation programs and sessions to the whole of the organization. In other words, it can be said that it will focus on the rate of success of training itself.
